Who we are
The Lacanian Compass is a group dedicated to the development and promotion of the Lacanian Orientation of Psychoanalysis in the United States, psychoanalysis as first described by Sigmund Freud and further elaborated by Jacques Lacan and Jacques-Alain Miller.
The programs in the Lacanian Compass are presented in coordination with the World Association of Psychoanalysis.
Lacanian Compass is organized through the work of its Council, whose members include Maria-Cristina Aguirre (New York), Juan Felipe Arango (Miami), Alicia Arenas (Miami), Thomas Svolos (Omaha), and Karina Tenenbaum (Miami). The Council works in conjunction with Pierre-Gilles Gueguen, Delegate of the Council of the World Association of Psychoanalysis for the United States.
The programs and activities of the Lacanian Compass include Clinical Study Days, VideoSeminar, the Lacanian Compass journal, and cartels, information on all of which can be found on the links at the top of this page.
